Academica Nevada-Supported Charter Schools Lead State with Impressive 99.1% Graduation Rate

Las Vegas, NV – December 5, 2024 — Academica Nevada celebrates the exceptional achievements of its supported charter schools, which continue to lead Nevada’s public education landscape. With an astounding graduation rate of 99.1%, far surpassing the state average of 81%, Academica Nevada-supported schools are setting new benchmarks for academic success.

Academica Nevada schools far exceed graduation rates across the state, with Clark County at 81.4%, Washoe at 81.4%, and SPCSA at 83.8%. This impressive performance is a result of a robust academic environment that focuses on preparing students for both college and careers. In total, Academica Nevada schools graduated 1,110 students in the most recent academic year, with 437 earning College and Career Ready diplomas, 100 receiving Advanced Diplomas, and 559 earning Standard High School Diplomas.

Mater Academy - East Las Vegas Principal Renee Fairless proudly shared her school’s outstanding accomplishments, including a first-year graduating class of 150 students. “Our school is located in a Title 1 community, with surrounding schools rated 1 and 2 stars. Despite this, we’ve achieved a graduation rate of over 98%, with close to 50% of our students earning a College & Career Ready (CTE) high school diploma, and 17 students earning an Associate of Arts degree. This speaks to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, students, and families.”

“Our schools have consistently been at the forefront of education, setting the standard for excellence since our inception, while operating with only 70% of the funding that other district public schools,” said Ryan Reeves, COO of Academica Nevada. “The exceptional performance of our schools is a direct result of the dedication of our principals, the passion of our teachers, and the commitment of our communities. We are proud to support high-performing charter schools whose autonomy and innovative approaches allow them to serve a diverse range of students. These achievements are a testament to their hard work and the vital role of choice in public education.”

Academica Nevada’s success is driven by a commitment to supporting both teachers and students. Teachers receive ongoing professional development, while students are instructed in small class sizes by committed educators in classrooms equipped with advanced technology and 21st-century resources. Teachers focus on personalized instruction through data-driven strategies and research-based instructional practices. This data-driven approach, along with high-quality differentiated instruction, appropriate assessments for learning, and programs for student advancement, makes a sustainable difference in students' learning. Additionally, targeted interventions are offered for struggling readers and students performing below grade level, helping them reach their full potential.

Academica Nevada supports over 34,000 students across seven charter school networks, including CIVICA Academy, Doral Academy, Somerset Academy, Pinecrest Academy, Mater Academy, SLAM Academy, Young Women’s Leadership Academy, and Oasis Academy.
