Somerset Aliante Hosts "Rock 'n' Roll to School" Event for Annual National Walk & Roll to School Day

North Las Vegas, NV - October 7, 2024- Somerset Aliante is proud to participate in the Annual National Walk & Roll to School Day by hosting a special "Rock 'n' Roll to School" event on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 7:20 AM to 8:00 AM. The event will be held at Somerset Aliante, located at 6475 Valley Dr, North Las Vegas, NV 89084.

This event aims to promote safe walking, and biking within the Somerset Aliante school community. Students and their families will learn essential road safety skills, while drivers are reminded to stay vigilant and watch for pedestrians and cyclists. The initiative aligns with the school’s ongoing efforts to emphasize student safety and encourage healthy practices.

“We want to ensure that our students and families understand the importance of road safety, whether they are walking, biking, or driving,” said Principal Manning. “This year, we’re especially excited because, for the first time, our school has received crossing guards. These crossing guards are positioned at key intersections near the school, ensuring safer routes for our students—a service we’ve long been advocating for.”

The addition of crossing guards, provided by the City of North Las Vegas, reflects Somerset Aliante’s commitment to improving the safety of its students. By partnering with local government, law enforcement, parents, school staff, and students, the school demonstrates the power of community in addressing these critical safety concerns.

The North Las Vegas Police Department has also been invited to attend the “Rock ’n’ Roll to School” event, reinforcing the collaborative effort to protect students and highlight road safety for all. Somerset Aliante encourages parents, students, and staff to join in this fun and educational event, helping strengthen safety practices within the school community.
